Program Descriptions & Dress Code
Preschool Movement Workshop (PWM) (Ages 3-4.)
Stresses major locomotor training and freestyle movement to a variety of music styles and a central theme designed for our youngest dancers.
Pre Ballet/Pre Tap Combo (Age 4. Student must be age 4 by Aug 31, 2016 to enroll.)
Introduces basic ballet technique and basic tap technique in a play-based environment.
Ballet Technique (Ages 5 to Adult). Students must be age 5 by Aug 31, 2016 to enroll.)
Beginner, Intermediate, Pre-Advanced Training and Advanced Training Divisions. Students must master steps taught, strength, body alignment and turn-out before moving to the next class level. (See Ballet Technique Class Requirements.)
Beginning Ballet (Age 8+)
A beginning program in ballet training designed to aid the beginning pre-adolescent in mastering beginning steps and body placement in preparation for enrollment in our graded interdisciplinary Leveled program.
Teen/Adult Ballet (Age 13 to Adult.)
An energized classical ballet training class for beginning to intermediate teen and adult dancers.
Pointe (Student must be at least 11 1/2 years old with a minimum of two years ballet training.)
Instructor permission is required to enter this program, based on steps mastered, strength and proper body alignment.
Jazz Basics (Ages 5 to 7. Students must be age 5 by Aug 31, 2016 to enroll.)
Introduces age-appropriate jazz basic technique for very young dancers.
Jazz Technique (Ages 8 and up. A minimum of one year ballet training is recommended.)
Program based on classical 20th-Century jazz technique -- addressing placement and aesthetic line and progressing through training in 21st-Century developments in jazz. (See Jazz Technique Class Requirements.)
Contemporary Jazz (Students must be enrolled in Jazz Technique: Jazz Level Intermediate 2 or higher; Or by Invitation.)
The popular fusion of classical and lyrical jazz with ballet and modern dance which challenges the advanced dancer to explore their technical and emotional boundaries. Studends will explore movement, choreography and history of the dance style. (See Jazz Technique Class Requirements.)
Tap Technique (Ages 5 and up. Students must be age 5 by Aug 31, 2016 to enroll.)
Emphasizes tap technique, clarity, agility and speed. Students must master steps taught before advancing to the next class level.
Broadway Tap Technique (Ages 13+)
Foundation tap training in the evolving style made popular in film and New York City's Broadway musical theater.
Performance Ensemble (PE) (By Audition only. Ballet Level 7 Pointe and up.)
Ballet Rincon's elite interdisciplinary performance troupe, representing Ballet Rincon as our community ambassadors. (Fall and Spring Semesters only. See Performance Ensemble Audition and Contract Requirements.)
Ballet Rincon is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough nine level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Pre-Primary through Level 3 will be taught by the ABT® Certified Teachers Jennifer Neuser, Alana Gatzke, and Angelina Lin Hannum, who have successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
